James David Phenicie

James David Phenicie Carlsbad, CA Photography has always been a great part of my life – as a young boy in Indiana with a Brownie camera, I dreamed of becoming a photographer. I was drawn to the visual arts growing up. I was inspired by watching my father apply his artistic skills to his paintings, drawings and sculptures. But for me it was the art of photography that captured my imagination. Oh sure, I had youthful fantasies of being a policeman, or fireman but I also wanted to be a photographer. My father encouraged my dream by clearing a small space in his work shop for a dark room. But I longed to travel the world to photograph images like I saw in Life, Look, and The National Geographic. I once read the following quote:...
